#we can make some rational assumptions and best guesses and whatnot

statistics and astrology both operate on the magical principle of cosmic sympathy. they each have their uses for prediction but are obviously limited (by chaos, error, outdated assumptions, biased interpretation, etc).
#they are both grasping at something ultimately unknowable#we can make some rational assumptions and best guesses and whatnot#and there are underlying mechanical and mystical forces at work in each#though statisticians wouldn't like to think so#as i said like a week or two ago math is also a kind of magic#but yeah they have their uses but if you are expecting them to be 100% accurate all the time#or always clear and unambiguous it's just not gonna happen#they are just two of the many tools we use to make sense of the world#i'm starting to get a bit buzzed so sorry if this isn't that articulate

ever since the stream ended iāve been trying to rationalize why (from a character standpoint) techno acted Like That and everything iāve come up with has been lackluster at best and downright inaccurate at worst. like āeret is an unknown factorā doesnāt make sense, āhe was overwhelmed by stress/emotionā and āhe was really angry so he wasnāt thinking straightā both ignore precedent to at least some extent, āheās just a hypocriteā not only ignores precedent but ALSO leaves technoās remarkably consistent ideological stance completely unacknowledged!!!! i guess thereās the argument that people arenāt walking talking ideology machines but imo that feels pretty weak, especially with an action so extreme as locking someone in prison. like, itās not even that such an action isnāt anarchist so much as itās just not something techno would do. i can hand wave that stupid dictator line as just hyperbole or speaking without thinking or something (as much as i donāt like it) but with the prison thing itās just sitting there and i canāt rationalize it! of course i know that there were probably scrip reasons why things had to go the way they did and iām all for analysis in the context and constraints of the medium and whatnot but at the same time i just care so much more about character analysis and understanding why they do the things they do with the assumption that their world is more than just narrative convenience. ALSO it felt like this stream had so much in it that was just brushed over? like when techno eret and tubbo were confronting sam it felt like there was so much that wasnāt being said. and doubly so for the section with ranboo at the end like WHAT? WHEREāS THE REST? WHY ARENāT YOU TALKING TO EACHOTHER???? honestly, and this might just be personal preference, but what i love so much about roleplay isnāt the big set pieces or events itās the character interactions and how the narrative spins out from them. like i donāt intrinsically care about sam being put in prison, especially if it feels like the characters are acting in service of that (or any event!!!) being the foregone conclusion. i care about how characters and groups interact with each other and their situations and seeing how the plot unfolds organically from there. sorry for the long rant i just had so much i wanted to say
NO YOU'RE SO RIGHT. LIKETHIS STREAM WAS CHARACTER ASSASSINATION FOR REAL LIKE ACTUALLY LITERALLY #NOTMYCTECHNO
AS TO THE END PART W/ RANBOO LIKE... YEAH. LIKE GHOSTBOO EXISTS AWESOME COOL I CRIED BRIEFLY BUT THEN LIKE. OKAY WHAT
THE STREAM WAS CALLED AVENGING RANBOO WE SHOULD'VE FELT RANBOO'S PRESENCE THROUGHOUT AND WE GOT NONE OF THAT I GOT 20 SECONDS OF PEERPRESSURE TEARS AND AN HOUR OF "WHO THE HELL IS THIS"
